Please bring your Health Card to all appointments.
For school or behavioural issues, please bring any forms that were sent to you in advance. If you have misplaced them, they can be downloaded from the clinic home page (under “Health Information”) Also, copies of recent report cards, notes from the teachers, or copies of any psychological assessments are extremely helpful.
For follow-up visits for school problems, it is often helpful to have the teacher complete a SNAP checklist, which describes school issues. These can be downloaded from this web site (under “Health Information” on the clinic home page).
Initial consultations typically last 30-60 minutes, while follow-up appointments last 15-30 minutes. Certain consultations (e.g. for autism) may last up to two hours.
Although we do fall behind from time to time, for the most part our clinic runs on schedule. The most common reason for getting behind schedule is patients who arrive late for their appointment. Any patient arriving more than 10 minutes late for their appointment may not be seen.
In general, it is best to ask your pharmacy to fax us a prescription renewal request. We prefer that you do not contact the office directly for renewal requests.
All of our paediatricians see patients in the emergency room, in the nursery, or in the delivery room. We do book appointments for days when the paediatrician is “on call”. If this is the case, there is a possibility that the paediatrician will be called to the hospital, and your appointment may be delayed or cancelled. We make every effort to re-book you at a convenient time if this happens to you.
Please bring all medications and devices (e.g. aerochambers). If possible, do not use any bronchodilator (blue puffer) on the day of the appointment.
