The CKCAC provides a full range of general paediatric care. The clinic consists of six paediatricians who provide consulting care only. Other health care providers refer all patients that we see in the clinic.
Consultant paediatricians see children for a specific problem only. They do not provide routine healthcare, immunizations, or “checkups”. We routinely assess issues including asthma, diabetes, seizure disorders, common skin problems, and concerns regarding growth and development among many others. We hold multidisciplinary clinics for asthma and diabetes.
We also have an extremely active mental health practice. We see large volumes of ADHD, anxiety, depression, and related issues. One of our members (Dr Edwards) specializes in the biomedical management of autism. Dr Johnston devotes a significant portion of his time to the management of transgender and gender diverse teens.
Complementing the consulting services, our clinic also has a nurse practitioner who provides primary care to patients up to and including the age of 17 years. Children and adolescents requiring primary care may contact the office regarding the availability of this service.
Our clinic does not provide emergency or after-hours care. Although one of our paediatricians is on call at all times, in an emergency you should proceed to the nearest Emergency Room.
